Leonard Nimoy 1931-2015

Star Trek star Leonard Nimoy has passed away at 83, The New York Times  has reported.

Nimoy, who played Mr. Spock on the original Star Trek series, was hospitalized last week following complaints of severe chest pains. Nimoy revealed last year that he had been diagnosed with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). According to the Times, Nimoy’s wife Susan Nimoy confirmed the death while confirming COPD as the official cause of his death.

Nimoy played Spock from 1967 to 1969 on CBS. He co-starred with William Shatner and the other members of the Enterprise. He also played a role in the Transformers cartoon and the Transformer movie, as well as the Star Trek reboot.
